What’s With The Attitude!

What’s With The Attitude!

“You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control your attitude toward what happens to you, and in that, you will be mastering change rather
than allowing it to master you.”

 Brian Tracy

positive attitude reminder

Whether you believe it or not, positive attitude is not just a “soft skill”. It is one of the most significant factors in achievement. Your thoughts directly affect both your level of performance and achievement.

The first step towards growth is to become aware, because then you can start to make the changes that promote positive attitudes.

What is an Attitude?

It is best defined as a habit of thought. We all naturally develop certain patterns of thinking. We are influenced by parents, friends, culture, environment, experiences and circumstances.

This is why it is so important to take personal responsibility for your attitudes, and not to let the world around you shape your attitudes. Generally this leads to negative and unproductive attitudes.

Every thought you have throughout the day is either positive or negative, there is no neutral. These thoughts are either moving you towards your goals or causing your stagnation.

The Fear Factor

Everyone is challenged by fear, but the secret is not to let your attitudes be controlled by the emotion of fear. We all have a fear of the unknown, but if we are to develop and grow, we have to conquer that fear. Don’t sabotage opportunities because you are afraid to develop new skills, try new activities and take on new responsibilities.

The best way to get over your fear of the unknown is to plan. Plan to do things that push you forward, rather than trying to deal with new challenges unprepared. It will be difficult at first, but persevere, it will be worth it. Over time it will become a habit and positive habits lead to positive outcomes!

How To Change Your Attitude

There are a number of steps that you can follow to help you face your fears:

Positive Expectancy

You must have a positive vision of your future in your mind. Achievement is 80% mental!

Your dreams will be accomplished in your mind long before you achieve them in reality. Build a strong vision of a positive future and you will find that you start attracting the circumstances to you that you will need to realize your goals.

Positive Goals

You must make sure that you remain consistent and follow through with your daily plan, regardless of what is going on around you. Your goals must be strong enough to keep you going no matter how you are feeling.

Positive Relationships

The associations you have with others can have a very strong effect on you, either promoting your growth or deterring it. It is important therefore, that you develop relationships with people who inspire you and have a positive influence on your growth. It is impossible to have relationships with negative people without some of that negativity affecting you.

Positive Living

Too many people never succeed in life because they are afraid to leave their comfort zone. they procrastinate. They are always saying’ “I’ll do it tomorrow”. You need to develop a sense of urgency and learn to live right now!

Positive Belief

Your belief in yourself it what will help you to succeed. It is vital to your growth and achievement. There will be times when you just want to give up, but having a strong belief that you can prevail will help you through the tough times.

  2. Improvement starts with a person’s attitude. If I think I’m going to fail, I’m probably going to fail miserly. If I think I’m going to succeed, I have a wonderful start because I already believe in myself. Success starts with you attitude, and I hope you have a positive one. I love this post Helen. :)
